A life changer for me!

If you don't know what tubing mascara is, read about it and just try it! I tried the Kevin Aucoin based on a recommendation from Allure magazine. It did not disappoint and actually exceeded my expectations. This mascara is easy to apply and provides a natural voluminous look to my lashes without that exaggerated smoky eye look. Best of all, because it is a tubing mascara, it doesn't run underneath my eyes during the day. I have oily skin and most mascara gives me raccoon eyes. Waterproof mascara is too hard to remove and the rubbing damages the delicate skin under the eyes. This mascara washes off easily in little "tubes" without tugging or pulling.

Will never buy again

Wrote a comprehensive review which did not get published and I don't feel like rewriting it all again. Basic bottom line, did not work for me. Not sure of why all the professional reviewers love it. Glad I tried it on my own so I don't have to wonder why all the hype and don't have to spend my money on it again. Takes way too many strokes to apply and my lashes don't look longer nor fuller. I wouldn't call it a waste of money because I am happy I now know that I won't buy it again.

Holy grail mascara

This is a tubing mascara. And it is glorious. Easy to apply (wipe the excess off the wand before applying--this is Mascara 101, and a necessity for tubing mascaras because they are always wetter than traditional mascaras)--the wand has a lot of fine bristles that do a good job of separating and coating each lash, and the small diameter makes it easy to reach the inner and outer corners even if your eyes are small. The formula dries quickly, and doesn't clump unless the tube is old or you wait too long between coats. I use two coats--the first coat I wiggle for volume, and the second coat I look down and pull the wand up and out to create curl and length. I prefer bold lashes so two coats is perfect for me (I don't see any gains by adding more than two coats), but for a work/day look most people will be fine with one coat.The formula is a true black, it does a good job of adding volume without creating spiderlashes or weighing lashes down, and the length and curl lasts all day in all weather. It stays put perfectly all day without flaking. It holds up to rain and tears well, but does come off my lower outer corners when I rub my eyes during allergy season. It removes easily with water and very gentle rubbing--I have not lost any lashes from this mascara and I don't find remnants of it the next day. For reference, other tubing mascaras I have tried that have not performed nearly as well as this one are Blinc Original (didn't seem to do much other than make the lashes black), Blinc Amplified (flaked off during the day), DHC Perfect Pro (hard to remove; I lost lashes with this one), and Trish McEvoy High Volume (clumpy formula that got even clumpier if it got wet).

It's ok as mascara for me.

I liked that it doesn't flake but the brush is so small that very little mascara gets on the lashes. Some might really like that but my stumpy lashes need more.

There is little actual mascara in the tube.

Not what it used to be

I have been getting this mascara for years. I'm not sure if I just got a bad tube this time, but it's not as thick or lengthening as it used to be. Still easy to remove, but I'm not sure I'll purchase this again.

THE Best Mascara

This is my mascara - full stop. I suffer with the dreaded panda eyes, so decided on a tubular mascara and have tried so many, from cheap to expensive. I've found some flake and leave you with black bits around the eye. I've found some just clag the eyelashes and I've ended up looking like a folorn spider. I've found some are so difficult to remove, I've ended up pulling my own lashes out. This mascara is the antidote to it all. I have really sparse and short lashes due to menopause/cancer and I was looking for something that enhanced my natural lashes but without clumping. This mascara will not make you look as if you have false eyelashes, it will just enhance your natural look. This isn't about big or volume, this is about coating every lash for something more subtle. I must also mention how easy and downright satisfying it is to remove: yes, you can take it off with wipes but you don't really need any cleanser at all. It's so satisfying to just sort of twist/pick it off and with no damage to your lashes. So there must be down side, right? Well yes, sort of. It doesn't seem to last as well as some, so by noon, your lashes aren't quite as defined as they were but frankly, another swipe of the wand and you're good to go again. That's it - there's no other faults I can find. So if you're looking for a more natural look, with minimal hassle this is definitely worth a try.
